Reception / National Day

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the National Revolution, the Algerian Embassy in Lusaka organized a reception at Radisson Blu-Lusaka Hotel on November 5, 2024.

This celebration was attended by heads of missions and the diplomatic corps accredited to Zambia and representatives of the Zambian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the economic world, as well as Algerian nationals established in Zambia. This reception was enhanced by the presence of a representative of the Zambian Government, in the person of H.E. Mr. Kapelwa MBANGWETA, Minister of the Western Province, who, delivered a speech, in which he recalled the principles of Zambian foreign policy and highlighted Algeria's support for Zambia, in the education sector, through the annual higher education scholarship program and in the field of vocational training.

For his part, Ambassador Tewfik MAHI delivered a speech, in which he highlighted the principles of the country's foreign policy and its advocacy in favor of the right of peoples to self-determination, in particular for the Palestinian and Sahrawi people, while recalling the context of the outbreak of the Revolution and the elements that allowed its success.

The reception took place in a warm atmosphere and was embellished with the screening of a documentary film depicting the landscapes and monuments of Algeria and the broadcasting of patriotic songs and traditional Algerian instrumental music.
