Algerian Ambassador meets the Minister of SMEs

The Algerian Ambassador to Zambia, H.E. Tewfik Mahi, recently held a fruitful meeting with Zambia’s Minister of Small and Medium Enterprise Development, Mr. Elias Mubanga, to explore avenues for enhancing collaboration in the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Ambassador Mahi commended Zambia’s efforts to maintain strong cooperative relations with Algeria and shared plans to further deepen this partnership.

He underlines the necessity to enhance contacts between businessmen of both sides and promote further cooperation in the economic field, including through capacities building and exchange of experiences and expertise.

During the discussions, Minister Mubanga underscored the longstanding bilateral relations between Algeria and Zambia. Recalling his participation in a startup conference in Algeria two years ago, the minister emphasized the valuable insights gained during the visit and identified key areas for potential collaboration, particularly in the manufacturing sector. The minister stated that Zambia has much to learn from Algeria, especially in enhancing knowledge and skill transfer for SMEs.

He also expressed appreciation for Algeria’s ongoing support, including scholarships offered to Zambian students, which he noted as a vital contribution to strengthening the ties between the two nations. This meeting highlights the shared commitment of Algeria and Zambia to fostering partnerships that drive sustainable economic growth and development.
